Pelargonium graveolens, also known as Rose Geranium, is a perennial plant native to Africa but was introduced to the European countries during the 17th century. There are about 750 different varieties of Pelargonium that have been hybridized, many of which are grown for ornamental purposes. Only a few varieties are principally cultivated for distillation of Geranium essential oil. The oil varies, depending on growing conditions and species. Pelargonium graveolens is often called the Bourbon Geranium because the plant was first cultivated on Reunion Island, formerly one of the Bourbon Islands. Although the oil is often used by the pharmaceutical industry to make synthetic and to adulterate true Rose oil, the two species are distantly related.

This is my second time ordering from this company and I am always pleased with the quality of their products. I have been using this geranium oil for about a year now, and I love it. I was looking around for other suppliers in hopes of finding something cheaper, but I decided to order from them again. |
