Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus globulus is a medium-sized evergreen of the Myrtaceae family. Though native to Australia and its neighbouring islands, several species of the Eucalyptus are now cultivated in forestry plantations in temperate regions throughout the world. Eucalyptus globulus can grow up to 60 ft tall, with its extensive roots penetrating deep into the ground. The bark on the lower part of the massive trunk is often rough and brown in hue, while the upper bark is smooth and pale with a hint of blue. Mature Eucalyptus globulus bears aromatic white flowers surrounded by dark green leaves. These leathery leaves contain glands that produce the highly aromatic oil that the Eucalyptus is best known for.
