Known as one of the four true Cedars in the world, the Cedrus deodara is a member of the Pinaceae family and is native to the Himalayas from eastern Afghanistan to Garhwal in northwestern India. The tree can grow up to 76 meters high with ascending and spreading branches. Its needle-like leaves are triquetrous, present in whorls and dark green with a silver sheen. Flowers, open in autumn, are cone-like in shape and occur upright on horizontal branches. Similar to other Cedars, the heartwood of Himalayan Cedarwood is highly aromatic and yields about 2.1% of essential oil.

Pros: What a blessing to have found this! I have been making vibrational mist for 25 years. I started with one, and now I have 23. There are several that need the scent of the cedar, and for years I was buying plain Cedarwood. I wasn't satisfied with it, but I didn't have many options at the time. When I tried this I knew I had found gold. What depth, it lingers, and resonates of the ancient Himalayans. My clients love it and it blends well with Frankicense, lemon, rosewoodâ just a wonderful contribution to my business. I will never buy anything else. Wonderful Product! Pros: Non-Toxic (to me!) Pest Control Suffering from multiple chemical sensitivities, fighting a flea infestation in my new house was a major problem. Spritzing with diluted Cedar oil is doing a fine job of alleviating the problem - and my house smells great!! Thanks, Natural Green!! :) |
