Vetiver is a graminaceous plant found throughout the tropical and subtropical areas in India and Sri Lanka, particularly in regions rich in marshy soils. This densely tufted, perennial grass can grow up to 1.5 - 2 meters tall, and has a spongy rhizome, which has an unique ability to rapidly establish and stabilize soils with its deep, intense root system, making it a natural erosion control in shallow and instable areas. The thin, fibrous roots are highly aromatic and have been harvested for their perfume in India for thousands of years. The leaves of Vetiver are light green, narrow, linear and erect but characteristically bent backward near their tips. Vetiver essential oil is distilled from the roots and has a distinctive fragrance. The oil is often used in modern perfumery as a base note and fixative.

Pros: Such a awesomely deep scent I never heard of vetiver before Natural Green sent me a sample with one of my orders... It's powerful, smoky and deep. I mix this in a spray (20 ml spray bottle, 16 drops of vetiver, rest in 95% grain alcohol or water, whichever I have close) and frequently spray all around my desk area. Now that I have it and know about it trust me, I'll never be without it! Best vetiver! Date: January 07, 2011 Written by: Luna

Pros: High quality, fast shipping, good customer service! Cons: Can't think of any. I am a professional aromatherapist with 30 years experience in essential oils. I can assure you that this vetiver is the best you can get. If you have experience with essential oil, you need no scientists to tell you whether an oil is pure. You nose can tell you everything. I was certain I purchased exactly what I was looking as soon as I opened the bottle. |
