This Lavender essential oil is the highest quality in the Australian standard. It is grown and distilled by a farm recognized by The Australian Lavender Growers Association. The annual production of this Lavender oil is less than 150kg. There are several varieties of Lavender in cultivation which are used medicinally, and confusion sometimes arises over the names of the various species. The common Lavender - Lavandula officinalis, which is the most important medicinally, can also be called Lavandula angustifolia, or Lavandula vera. This is the most delicately scented Lavender, and also probably the best-loved and most widely used oil in aromatherapy. The fragrance of Lavender essential oil varies according to the altitude where they are grown. Higher altitude produce sharper and fresher aroma oils while lower altitude produces sweeter and softer oils. The finest quality are grown at altitude between 700 and 1400 meters.

It can even be used as an antibacterial when in high does, to combat typhoid, diphtheria, streptococcus, etc. Applied externally on sore joints, it can relieve rheumatism.

In the early 1800s, Lavender essential oil was used mainly as a pediatric stimulant. Today, however, it is used to treat an extensive list of ailments ranging from digestive problems to circulatory disorders; insomnia to bronchial asthma. There are many ways by which Lavender essential oil can be utilized. It can be used topically as a wound disinfectant; an aromatic bath to soothe the tired body; a massage oil for sore joints; even a foot bath to relieve sore feet. It can also be applied externally on burns to speed up healing, or as a smelling salt to relieve headaches.
