Neroli, also known as "orange blossom", is the flowers of the same Citrus aurantium var. amara that produces bitter orange and petitgrain essential oil. While petitgrain oil is extracted from the tips (branches and leaves), and bitter orange oil comes from the fruit peels, Neroli essential oil is obtained from the freshly picked, ready-to-open blossoms. It takes about 1000 lbs of bitter orange flowers to make only 1 lbs of Neroli essential oil, making it one of the most precious oils in aromatherapy. The oil is named after an Italian princess, Anne-Marie de la Tremoille, Countess of Nerola, who discovered the oil and used it to perfume her gloves and bath. Today, Neroli is used extensively in high-class perfumery works, and is a key constituent of true eau de cologne.

Neroli is antidepressant, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, antiseptic and a gentle sedative. One of the most important uses of Neroli essential oil is in helping with problems of emotional origin. It is especially valuable for states of tension, anxiety and fear. It is ideal for those who become exhausted from over worried. It is also an effective treatment for insomnia, particularly when the sleeplessness arises from anxiety. It is best used as a bath essence before bedtime.

Due to its calming nature and antispasmodic effect, Neroli is a helpful remedy for digestive problems that arise especially from stress or nervous tension. It is an effective treatment for chronic diarrhea, abdominal pains and irritable bowel syndrome.

Neroli essential oil is also used extensively in skin care products due to its special rejuvenating effects which result from the stimulating properties that help the growth of new healthy cells. It can be used for all skin type, but is most useful for dry or sensitive skins. It can be used with Mandarin essential oil to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.

Neroli has delicate yet rich, fresh, floral top notes and warm, heady, bitter-sweet undertones.

Neroli essential oil is one of the best aromatic antidepressive oils. It counters nervous strain, fear, anxiety, mental confusion, as well as lack of confidence. Neroli can redirect one's energy into a more positive direction and give the strength to deal with crises.

Pros: The quality of this oil is par excellence

I have been making vibrational remedy mists for 25 years. It is a combo of flower essences and essential oils. I have used many providers over the years, and have found Natural Green's oils are simply the best. My clients love "Un-Plugged" which is basically Neroli, pine, and lemon, with the flower essences.

Unfortunately, price has increased tremendously, but that is overall for everyone. I can depend that I am getting the best deal, and great service, with dependable high level of quality that lasts. To assure a good product, I have to be very picky. I never worry when I order this Neroli.

Love this fantastic oil. The fragrance is so rich and divine. Simply delicious! I wish I could eat it. It may sound pricey. But it is the Neroli you are buying, not Petitgrain. And Neroli is never a cheap oil. Worth every penny you pay for. Highly recommendâ.!
